Belabumbum Adds Cup-Sized Bras

(Filed Under wholesale Lingerie News). Belabumbum, an Arizona-based wholesaler of lingerie, basics, sleepwear and maternity wear, is launching its first cup-sized bras for the spring/summer 2010 season. The bras will be seen in the Rachelle, Serena and Claudia groupings. Wholesale prices for the bras will range from $18 to $26, and they will retail for approximately $45. The company's full range of retail prices run from $14 to $110.

Included under Rachelle is a ruched contour bra available in 32 to 36, B through D, and in shades cream/lilac and black; under Serena, a lightweight underwire bra available in 32 through 38, B through DD; and under Claudia, a “sexy” contour underwire made from microfiber and lace and available in sizes 32 through 36, B through D. It comes in shades of green, black and brown. In total, the company will introduce 11 new and updated collections for spring/summer. In addition to the new cup-sized bras, silhouettes will include bralettes, camis, panties, thongs, g-strings, and loungewear, among others.

Co-founders and designers of Belabumbum, Heidi Rauch and Alyssa Weiss, reported that they decided to launch cup-sized bras “in response to increased customer demand” and as way of taking advantage of the poor economy. According to the company, “they sourced the best technicians in the business, [and] hired professional fit models,” while designing the bras.

Belabumbum merchandise can be found in Anthropologie stores, as well as specialty boutiques nationwide including Azaleas in New York, N.Y., Enelra Lingerie in Brooklyn, N.Y., and Lulus in Riverside, Calif.

Cindy Kahng, owner of Azaleas, commented about the brand: “They are fantastic. I have been carrying that line since its inception and it is one of the few brands in my store that has been constant. People love it; their basic collection is just amazing. The [basic bra] fits a lot of people, and considering that it runs in sizes S through L, that's saying a lot.” She added that she will be trying a few of the cup-sized bras when they launch this spring.

Kathy Rodarte, manager/buyer at Lulus, also reported a positive customer response to the brand. “They do really well [in the store]. The designs and colors always work with current trends of the season, styles are pretty and functional, and merchandise is of a great value. We have carried them for over five years and the brand has developed a customer following.”

Founded by Rauch and Weiss in 2001, Belabumbum can also be found internationally in Australia, Bahrain, Bermuda, Canada, France, Ireland, Israel and Mexico, among other countries. For further information, call (800) 813-0655.
