Amanda Torres Price's interview with Susan McMahon.
Amanda Torres Price: Describe your store.
Susan McMahon: [We are] dedicated to finding the inner beauty in all women. We start with providing a warm and inviting atmosphere from the store design to the welcoming staff. Fit is our passion so we encourage all of our customers to make sure they are in the proper bra. We carry a wide array of product styles and sizes to meet our customer’s needs: from basics to beautiful, AA to HH cups. We have almost doubled our space this year to take on mastectomy care.
A.T.P.: What makes your store special?
S.M.: The primary thing [we] excel in is personal service. Customer service you can find anywhere but personal service is hard to find. We treat all our customers like family.
A.T.P.: What brands are particularly important to your store?
S.M.: We are very careful about our product selection. Quality is paramount, along with reliable delivery and the ability to order small quantities. Our best brands are: Fantasie; Freya; Elomi; Anita; Aubade; and Wacoal in bras. Sleepwear is Jonquil; Kenan; PJ Salvage; Shirley of Hollywood; and Mystique.
A.T.P.: What is your price range?
S.M.: Our top-selling bras range from about $60 to $80 [...] Product definitely moves slower when prices push over $100. Bridal sleepwear is a bit of an exception.
A.T.P.: Who is your customer base made up of?
S.M.: Predominantly female, though we do have some dedicated men shoppers as well. The average age is 30 to 60.
A.T.P.: What is your average customer size?
S.M.: Our predominant size sale is an F cup and above. We believe that is because we fit properly and many women who have been wearing DDs are there because they aren’t wearing the proper band size and so have moved up in band to make the cups fit.
