“We are getting more aggressive in our development of plus size and full busted sizes,” declared Meryl Kutzin of QT, noting that, “We will be launching a new brand in the fall of this year,” which will include a “separate and new catalog.” At QT the plus market already accounts for about 40% of the company’s sales. The rush to expand in in plus throughout the industry occurred “Because there was a lack of product for full figure woman that was pretty and sexy.” Another reason for the increased demand may have something to due with plastic surgery, Kutzin observed. “Breast augmentation, I’m sure, plays a big part in the plus market for bras.”
