Fun World, one of the worlds largest costume distributors, debuted the latest styles under its trademarked sexy costume line Fantasy at this month’s International Halloween Show in New York City. Included are more than two dozen new women’s styles, bringing Fantasy’s total to well over 100 designs that retail for $17.99 to $59.99 and run in sizes XS through XL.

Although Fun World is a well-known veteran in the Halloween market, the company only began to focus on the sexy costume market five years ago with great success, according to Alex Losito, national sales Manager for Fun World. With this came the launch of Fantasy approximately three years ago to great success, according to the company.

According to Karen Bowen, head designer of Fun World, Fantasy’s success lies in its unique styling and far-reaching appeal, which allows the company to establish a presence in the year-round costume and lingerie retail channels.

“Our goal [upon launching Fantasy] was to create a look within the market that would appeal to women of all ages, designing styles that are flirty, fun, and flattering to all body types, and allowing us to tap the late teen thru 40-something market.”

According to Losito, what has really set Fantasy apart is its party-themed line titled The Girls Around The World. Each costume in the line features a nationality- inspired design that incorporates such accessories like shot glasses and beverage dispensers.

According to Andi Wolos, new product coordinator for the company, not only do these styles look fabulous on, they also allow the wearer opportunity for social interaction at a party or affair. Some signature designs within this collection are the Sexy Shooter (Mexico); Costtie Hottie (Scotland); White Russian (Russia); Sake Sweetie (Japan); and Biergarten Girl (Germany).

According to Bowen, Fun World plans to expand its party themed line by introducing several occupational-based designs including Put Out The Fire (Firefighter), Say Aaaah! (Nurse), and Dr. Shots (Surgeon) “all including uniquely designed beverage dispensers that are sure to be a hit this year.”

In all, Fun World will introduce over 200 new costumes, which will not only include redesigns of lady bugs, bumble bees and vampires, but will also incorporate designs for men to compliment the Fantasy by Fun World Collection.

Fun World’s entire collection can be viewed at one of their showrooms or at the following trade shows: The Houston Halloween and Party Expo, Jan. 24th through 27th; the Chicago International Halloween and Party Show from Feb. 26th through March 1st; and the Las Vegas International Halloween and Lingerie Show, from April 12th through 14th.
