Gildan Sells Australian Division

Gildan announced it is selling its HanesBrands Australian Business to Australian billionaire Brett Blundy for an enterprise valuation of approximately $700 million Australian dollars (AUD, about $490 million at current exchange rates). The entity includes the underwear and apparel brand Bonds; the intimates brand Berlei; the Bras N Things chain of stores; and Sheridan, a homewares and bed linens business.

Blundy had sold Bras N Things to HanesBrands in February 2018 for approximately $500 million AUD (about $351 million). Gildan acquired Hanes in 2025 and it had communicated its intention to pursue a sale of the Australian division and had announced the launch of a formal sale process in its fourth quarter 2025 earnings release. Currently there are over 200 Bras N Things stores spread across Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. The transaction is expected to close by the end of 2026.

Although there are currently no Bras N Things stores open in the U.S., a small number were previously operating in California during the last several years. One opened in February 2020 at the Westfield Fashion Square in Sherman Oaks, California. And, according to older Yelp listings, there were also mall stores in California at Westfield Topanga in Canoga Park; Westfield Fashion Square in Sherman Oaks; Westfield Culver City; and The Shops at Mission Viejo.
