Aerie comparable sales in the fourth quarter rose 23%, while total sales rose 26.7% to $683.841 million, from $539.673 million in the three months ended February 1, 2025. For the full year 2025, comparable sales at the underwear division of American Eagle Outfitters (AEO) increased 9%, as total sales rose 11.3% to $1.934,702 billion from $1.738,414 billion in the previous fiscal year.

Parent company AEO, which also offers a variety of apparel under the American Eagle band, reported net income of $191.983 million on sales of $5.497 billion, compared to a profit of $329.380 million on sales of $5.329 billion last year. Notably, the American Eagle brand comps were flat for the full year and up only 2% in the fourth quarter.

AEO CEO Jay Schottenstein explained that “building on the improved trends beginning last summer, we achieved a record fourth quarter and holiday period, with double digit growth at Aerie and Offline and solid, positive performance at American Eagle. Compelling new product collections, supported by fresh marketing campaigns, led to higher demand trends in the quarter.” Looking ahead, he added that “the first quarter is off to a positive start and we remain focused on investing in our brands and driving additional corporate savings and efficiency across the business. I’m confident that our strategic actions will lead to long-term profitable growth and shareholder value creation.” The company as a whole stated it is expecting “high single digit” sales growth in the first quarter and “mid single digit” sales growth for the full year. Operating income is projected at “$20 to $25 million” for the first quarter and “$390 to $410 million” for the full year, up from operating income of $249 million in the year ended January 31, 2026. The company reported it was operating a total of 1,168 stores as of the end of the fiscal year, of which 332 were Aerie and Offline stand alone or side-by-side locations.
